Traveling Tourism. “Lure of the North: An History of Tourism in Alaska” is an exhibit opening at the Alaska State Museum. It highlights the promoters, symbols and, yes, hype that have made tourism Alaska's second largest private-sector employer, and its fastest-growing industry. Weld Royal. Pkg. 4:07 (4:42 with intro)
Chevak Bird & Cultural Tours. An Alaska Marketplace grant has enabled Chevak mayor Ulric Ulroan to start up an eco-tourism endeavor he hopes will bring gaggles of birders flocking to the Y-K region. Rebecca Sheir. Host 2-way. 6:05 (7:07 with intro)
Break #1: “Come Fly With Me” played by Robert Farnon & His Orchestra from Sketches of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett
The Blue Bus. Crossing the Arctic Circle is a big draw for tourists. Richard Carroll and his blue bus have been offering a one-of-a-kind Circle-crossing tour for years. AK’s Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock. Pkg. 4:53 (5:49 with intro)
300 Villages. Tenakee Springs and Angoon.
Barrow Lemmings in Haines. Wildlife cinematographer Mario Benassi helps run Kroschel Films Wildlife Center in Haines, where visitors can view Alaskan wildlife like the Collared Lemming, which – no matter what Walt Disney tells you – does not commit mass suicide by jumping off cliffs. Rebecca Sheir. Host Pkg. 5:00

Ellen’s B&B. Alaska is a dream destination for many vacationers, and as AK's Ellen Lockyer tells us, visitors often see with new eyes what we Alaskans take for granted. Commentary. 3:28 (3:42 with intro)
Break #2: “You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To” played by Warren Vaché from My Shining Hour
Displace Me. When Rex Gray traveled to Seattle, he ran into some fellow Alaskans at "Displace Me,” an event going on there and in 14 other cities to raise awareness of displaced kids in Uganda. Pkg. 5:40 (6:06 with intro)
Calendar of Events: “King of the Road” played by Appalachian Pickers from Old Timey Country
Do Not Feed The Humans. Whale-watching is a popular tourist activity. To protect animals from harassment, in 2001 the National Marine Fisheries Service imposed limits on how close boats could get to the whales. The satirists at Crab Bait Radio imagined a follow-up rule, prohibiting the whales from getting too close to the boats. 1:28 (1:56 with intro)
Philippines Pop in Unalaska. Not one Filipino pop star had ever visited the Aleutian island of Unalaska, where Filipinos make up more than 20 percent of the population. So local entrepreneur Rose Hook decided to change that. Charles Homans. Pkg. 7:10 (7:35 with intro)
Close: “Sentimental Journey” played by Esquivel & Esquivel and His Orchestra from Esquivel: Cabaret Mañana
